Courtyard Jubail Hotel: IDA pays Homage to Jubail’s Industrial Location & its History
At Courtyard Jubail Hotel, IDA pays homage to Jubail's industrial location, its history of fishing and pearl gathering dating back to the 11th century. Guests can find various design elements that reflect Jubail's heritage, including patterned carpets and furniture. The color palette incorporates sand-like and neutral hues, creating a bright and inviting backdrop. Natural wood panels are used to enhance the ambiance, striking a balance between a relaxed and sophisticated atmosphere.
IDA was appointed for the interior design of the Courtyard Jubail Hotel, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Courtyard by Marriott is a four-star hotel that forms part of a mixed-use project in Jubail. The project includes a commercial tower, hotel tower, residential compound with 59 villas, and retail shops. The entire mixed-use project covers a site area of 28,178sqm and is located on King Faisal Street in Jubail, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
The Courtyard by Marriott brand is evolving to cater to a new type of traveler and aims to encourage guests to "Make room for a little fun." The hotel is designed as a smart and dynamic space that allows guests to make the most of their time on the road.
The design focus is on creating a fun and inviting atmosphere incorporating traditional design motifs suited for travelers while proposing minimal changes to the existing as-built structure. The design brief emphasizes the need to transform the hotel into a vibrant and welcoming space that enhances the guest experience. IDA was tasked to transform the existing structure into a lively and inviting space that aligns with the desired fun atmosphere for travelers on the road while keeping the changes to a minimum.
The design concept also focuses on creating an open, interactive, and inviting lobby that is modern, warm, and approachable. A prominent feature in the design is the chevron pattern, which adds visual interest and enhances the overall aesthetic in the Interior.
While the hotel is primarily designed with business travelers in mind, it also provides a comfortable accommodation option for local guests. With its design inspired by Jubail's industrial nature and rich history, the hotel still offers a fun, inviting atmosphere that combines modern comforts with traditional design motifs.
The layout of the hotel offers guests numerous choices and opportunities to strike a balance between productivity and enjoyment. With open areas in the lobby, guests can catch up on business while also engaging in recreational activities. The hotel aims to energize guests by providing an experience that goes beyond the confines of their rooms.
